Slow food and slow life - this is Fjaerland
In Fjaerland you will find two beautiful wooden hotels by the fjord. The classic Hotel Mundal was built in 1891 while Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotell, originally built as a guest house, came to life in 1937. Next to the Glacier Museum you find The Bøyum Camping with several cabins, rooms, places for tent and caravan, built in 1994. All the way from Mundal and along the fjord to Jordal there are several possibillties to stay in cabins and old fashion houses.
Northwards in Fjaerland you can find accomodation and local short travelled food just beneath Jostedalsbreen. In Supphelledalen Valley, under the icefall of Supphellebreen Glacier, you'll find Rødseter Inn - a fairly new establishment in the tourism of Fjaerland. In Bøyadalen Valley, by a glacier lake with spectacular view to Bøyabreen Glacier, you can enjoy a restaurant and souvenir shop with old home made recipes and products; Brævasshytta.
